DESIGN BREIF
Your client is a developer who wants to convert a warehouse space in Surry Hills into apartments, inspired by the work and ethos of Architect Frida Escobedo. The design must include two bedrooms, one bathroom, laundry, and pantry and to be focused around an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area. The key stone of this design will be the kitchen, living and dining space. As such you will be required to design one concept in full and present a second interpretation of the design to suit a different demographic through its materials and finishes.
CONCEPT THROUGH MATERIALITY
Escobedo is known for her inventive use of materials in her designs as the key communicator of more profound concepts. Your project should aim to showcase an innovative use of material and at least one custom ‘brick’ form you have designed.

COULOUR PALETTE
The colour palette for the space should be developed from the Dulux ‘Balance’ colour forecast and show an understanding of tints, tones, shades and tonal keys.
